Empowering Indonesia’s ‘Blockchain Generation,’ MEXC Foundation and Triv Launch F.I.R.E Scholarship
Key Takeaways

JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — MEXC Foundation, in collaboration with Triv, Indonesia’s leading digital asset trading platform, launches the Future Innovators in Rising Economy, or F.I.R.E, Scholarship on Wednesday, Nov 12, 2025. The initiative aims to cultivate Indonesia’s next generation of blockchain and Web3 leaders through education, mentorship, and hands-on industry experience.
The F.I.R.E Scholarship seeks to bridge a key gap in Indonesia’s fast-growing digital economy by connecting academic excellence with practical expertise in blockchain technology.
Triv Chief Executive Officer and Founder Gabriel Rey said the program would help Indonesian youth build successful careers in the digital economy, particularly in blockchain and Web3.
“Globally, most billionaires come from the tech sector. We hope Indonesia can become the most advanced digital economy in Southeast Asia,” Rey said during the launch conference in Jakarta.
He emphasized that the program was built in collaboration with several top Indonesian universities, marking a new phase for the crypto industry’s role in the broader economy. “There used to be stigma that crypto was unreliable, but now it’s making a tangible impact on society,” he said.
MEXC Foundation Vice President Kristina Xu added that both organizations share a mission to empower young people through education and technology. With Indonesia’s youthful, tech-savvy population and Triv’s decade-long presence in the market, the partnership was described as “a natural step.”
Together, the two organizations are building a sustainable talent pipeline that strengthens Indonesia’s position in the digital economy while ensuring emerging technologies deliver real benefits for local communities.
Indonesia as a Growth Engine
From MEXC’s global perspective, Indonesia is seen as one of the world’s most promising growth engines for blockchain and Web3. The country has a large, young, and digitally native population, strong retail adoption, and increasingly constructive regulations — a rare combination globally.
“Indonesia is not a country that waits and watches, but one that builds and invests,” said Xu. “We believe Indonesia has the potential to become a leading blockchain and Web3 hub in Southeast Asia and one of the most dynamic globally.”
Xu noted that Indonesia is recognized both as a rapidly growing developer base and as an emerging center of blockchain innovation. The F.I.R.E Scholarship, she said, is designed to equip students with both the technical skills and creative mindset needed to excel in these dual roles.
By doing so, the program will allow Indonesia to contribute not just talent but original innovation to the global blockchain ecosystem.
Xu added that while many countries are racing to develop blockchain talent, Indonesia stands out for its community-driven and inclusive approach. Collaborations between universities and industry have created a strong foundation for innovation and employment. This bottom-up ecosystem allows young people to use blockchain not only as a technology but as a tool for social and economic progress.
CryptoWave Chief Executive Officer Goldwin Halim said the blockchain and Web3 sectors are evolving rapidly, demanding broader literacy and deeper understanding. “With proper education, we can strengthen the ecosystem — not only from the investor side but also by nurturing innovators and future talents,” he said.
He observed that student interest in blockchain and Web3 has surged in recent years, though much of it remains trend-driven rather than rooted in understanding. Programs such as the Triv Foundation–MEXC Foundation collaboration, he said, play a vital role in transforming curiosity into competence.

CryptoWave acts as the communication bridge between the industry and the public, ensuring that information about the program is accurate, engaging, and easy to understand — especially for students seeking to enter the Web3 space. “We want to make sure that education is not only informative but also builds trust,” Goldwin added.
He emphasized that Indonesia’s blockchain and Web3 talent is not lagging behind regional peers. “In fact, Indonesia is entering an acceleration phase. We already have a massive user base, active communities, and growing institutional support,” he said. The next challenge, he noted, is to deepen technical competencies such as smart contracts, cybersecurity, and research.
“The main obstacles are limited learning resources in Bahasa Indonesia, persistent ‘get-rich-quick’ stigma, and the lack of local technical role models. CryptoWave aims to close that gap with structured, data-based education,” Goldwin said.
Full Scholarship Support
Under the program, 20 students from 11 partner universities will receive full tuition support for one semester, along with access to the F.I.R.E Mentorship Lab featuring industry experts and opportunities to serve as Student Ambassadors in the global Web3 network.
Applications open from Nov 12 to Nov 30, 2025, with recipients to be announced on Dec 11, 2025.
Beyond financial support, the program offers a structured career pathway in blockchain, guided by fintech and Web3 leaders. Participants will receive mentoring for student-driven innovation projects and hackathons, and integration into international professional communities.
The F.I.R.E Scholarship positions recipients as bridges between Indonesia’s academic institutions and the global blockchain ecosystem. It leverages Triv’s decade-long experience serving over three million users since 2015 and MEXC Foundation’s global outreach in blockchain education and empowerment.
Together, both organizations are building a continuous talent pipeline to strengthen Indonesia’s digital economy while ensuring new technologies deliver tangible benefits to society. The initiative reflects two of MEXC Foundation’s three core pillars — education and empowerment.
