JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — Triv Foundation launches the F.I.R.E Scholarship with MEXC Foundation on Thursday, Jan 15, 2026 in Jakarta to strengthen Indonesia’s blockchain talent pipeline as digital adoption accelerates, a move expected to expand the country’s role in the global Web3 ecosystem.
The program, formally named Future Innovators in Rising Economy, receives strong enthusiasm from students across Indonesia, with registrations exceeding initial expectations shortly after its announcement.
“Student interest far surpassed our early projections. This enthusiasm shows that Indonesia’s young generation has strong curiosity and readiness to engage more deeply in the blockchain industry, not only as users but also as builders and innovators,” said Gabriel Rey, CEO and Founder of Triv Foundation, during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday, Jan 15, 2026.
The F.I.R.E Scholarship is designed to cultivate Indonesia’s next generation of blockchain and Web3 leaders through structured education, mentorship, and direct exposure to real industry practices.
Since its announcement in November 2025, the scholarship has entered the selection and onboarding phase. Selected participants have begun initial program activities, including curriculum orientation, foundational blockchain sessions, and preparation for intensive mentorship under the F.I.R.E Mentorship Lab.
The program attracts hundreds of applicants from leading public and private universities nationwide. Eight high-performing students have been selected so far, consisting of two students from Universitas Indonesia, three from BINUS University, and three from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, with additional participants expected to join.
Participant backgrounds vary widely, spanning computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, data science, economics, business, and management. Several participants also come from non-technical disciplines but demonstrate strong interest in blockchain and Web3 development.
“This shows that the blockchain ecosystem is increasingly attracting interest across disciplines,” Gabriel Rey said.
He explained that the F.I.R.E Scholarship curriculum is industry-driven, covering blockchain and Web3 fundamentals, real-world industry use cases, and both technical and non-technical skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.
Through the F.I.R.E Mentorship Lab, participants are guided directly by industry practitioners to work on case studies and real problem simulations, ensuring that learning extends beyond theory into practical application.
As an active player in Indonesia’s blockchain industry, Triv Foundation positions itself as a bridge between academia and industry. The foundation ensures that program materials align with current industry needs, mentors are active practitioners, and participants understand real-world blockchain work environments, including regulation, compliance, and best practices.
“The goal is to produce talent that is not only technically capable but also professionally ready,” Gabriel Rey said.
From the F.I.R.E Scholarship, the core message, he added, is that Indonesia has significant potential to become a global player in the blockchain industry. Through this collaboration, students are encouraged to learn future technologies boldly, contribute to the global ecosystem, and build competitive skills from an early stage.
Excelsior, Indonesia Country Manager of MEXC Foundation, said Indonesia is a strategic priority for the foundation in Southeast Asia due to its large young population, rapid digital adoption, and highly active crypto and blockchain community.
“These factors make Indonesia a strategic talent pool for developing the blockchain ecosystem in Southeast Asia and globally,” he said.
According to Excelsior, the F.I.R.E Scholarship serves as an effective platform to introduce Indonesian talent to global standards. With international-level curriculum and mentorship, the program prepares students to contribute to global projects, compete in international Web3 companies, and emerge as world-class blockchain founders or developers.
He added that MEXC Foundation views the F.I.R.E Scholarship as a long-term initiative. If its impact aligns with expectations, the program has strong potential to expand into future batches with broader reach.
The collaboration leverages Triv’s decade-long experience in Indonesia, serving more than 3 million users since 2015, alongside MEXC Foundation’s global reach in blockchain and Web3 education and empowerment.
